Old friends

My mother and her sister catching up with an old friend

“One of the greatest titles we can have is ‘old friend’. We never appreciate how important old friends are until we are older. The problem is we need to start our old friendships when we are young. We then have to nurture and grow those friendships over our middle age when a busy life and changing geographies can cause us to neglect those friends. Today is the day to invest in those people we hope will call us 'old friend’ in the years to come.”

    1. Yes... someday the time will come when our kids get to our current age and they will be the ones looking at us 'old people' and hopefully admiring the rich friendships we have developed over the years. I hope they see something good!

    1. Yes indeed, old friend!
Mum's face was really lighted up at that awesome catch up session. Something about old friends that brings this side out in anyone. Better than a facelift. Hope when the time comes when we need one, we'll have a chance to see each other face-to-face and give each other that 'lift'!

These days my days are packed full to the brim. From the moment I wake up to the sound of Grace calling through the baby monitor and Nathan’s cheeky face peering at me over the edge of the bed… to the evening when I finally tuck them into bed and say goodnight.
