FAMILY DAY CARE

Hello there!

Those of you who have been following my journey would know of this big new venture of starting my own family day care.

I've set up this section to provide some introductory information as a starting point for anyone who is interested to find out more about my family day care.

Our family day home is a warm, cosy and inclusive environment where children can learn, play and be nurtured in a safe setting and feel completely at home. I aim to provide a family-oriented environment in a typical home setting where children are integrated into our family.

Here is some information about the services and care I provide:
  • Open Mon-Thu 7.30am-5.30pm 
  • Low children ratios for individualised care
  • Quality play based learning approach
  • All meals included
  • Well equipped indoor and outdoor learning environments
  • Approved service for Child Care Subsidy (CCS)
  • Licensed with City of Cockburn Family Daycare scheme in Western Australia
  • First Aid, Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate  and Working with Children Check
  • Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care

Programme and Activities
Our daily programme includes a mix of various free-play as well as some semi-structured activities. Our home play-environment includes:
  • An assortment of wooden blocks, Lego and various construction blocks
  • Dramatic play with play clothing, scarves, hats and bags
  • Home corner with play kitchen, play shop, baby corner
  • Creative play with play-dough, crayons, pencils, paints, collage
  • An assortment of board books, picture books and puzzles
  • An assortment of musical instruments and CDs
  • Outdoor nature play area with a variety of natural loose parts
  • Climbing equipment, monkey bars, slide, see-saw
  • Scooter, tricycle, ride-along/push toys
  • Variety of balls, hoops, bean bags
  • Water and sensory/messy play

Meals and Snacks
I provide one nutritious meal and two  nutritious snacks each day. Sample menu items include:
  • For Morning or Afternoon Tea ~ Sweet potato pancakes, homemade banana muffins, french toast, mini apple pies, fruit smoothies, a variety of fresh fruits
  • For Lunch ~ macaroni cheese with butternut squash, chicke and sweet potato soup, tuna and cucumber sushi, mini pizzas, potato and egg tortilla

These days my days are packed full to the brim. From the moment I wake up to the sound of Grace calling through the baby monitor and Nathan’s cheeky face peering at me over the edge of the bed… to the evening when I finally tuck them into bed and say goodnight.
