Have a play-ful weekend

Our photo moment of the week

DSC02450

We’re having a fun-filled activity-packed weekend – with potlucks and picnics and barbeques and friends. I’ll be trying out the most awesome grape salad you’ve ever tasted (which I understand is guaranteed to be polished cleaned at any potluck). And if time allows, I’ll be also venturing to make snowskin mooncakes.

Some linky treasures to kick-start your weekend…

Zooey Deschanel rocking old-school wayfarer glasses

DIY earrings made from paperclips

Badass babywearing

15 ways to stay married for 15 years

And finally this lovely poem which is a great reminder for all parents:

I hope my children look back on today,
And see a Mother who had time to play!
Children grow up while you're not looking,
There'll be years ahead for cleaning and cooking,
So quiet now, cobwebs; dust go to sleep.
I'm rocking my baby, and babies don't keep.

I want to be remembered as a mother who had time to play.

Comments

  1. could NOT get that grape salad out of my head all weekend. but cream cheese and sour cream sounds like trouble. i've already gained 15-20 pounds this pregnancy.
SO... i'm now munching on a bowl of grapes with thick yogurt!! SO. YUM.
not the same thing, i'm sure -- but it's what i can afford for now. =)
    thanks for sharing.

    1. Perhaps you can find an excuse to make it for a particular occasion or for someone else ;) I came back from the picnic/potluck with a completely empty bowl! Shows how good the recipe is!

And so Nathan’s very first day of kindergarten is over. It was a mixture of good, bad, sweet and sour. I think that so much happens throughout the day, it can be challenging for a little person to filter through it all.

These days my days are packed full to the brim. From the moment I wake up to the sound of Grace calling through the baby monitor and Nathan’s cheeky face peering at me over the edge of the bed… to the evening when I finally tuck them into bed and say goodnight.
